Today marks the midpoint of Affiliate Summit East, which reminds me of a pretty cool event leading up to the conference: the Nike Challenge Missy Ward and Shawn Collins set up. They pledged to donate $5,000 if people were willing to put in the miles. $1 for each mile run.
And run they did. 61 people in affiliate marketing contributed by lacing up their sneakers and downloading their runs to the Nike+ website. The challenge was so popular, that that 5,000 miles was reached long ago.
I ended up in 27th place with 115.04 miles run over 179 days. I had a few challenges here and there and probably didn’t run as much as I should have. It did motivate me to run more though, something I often have trouble with.
Early on in the challenge I made the decision to donate $1 for each mile I ran over the challenge and yesterday I happily made a donation to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. I think it is so important to give back whenever you can.
